This week’s prompt from 100 Word Challenge for Grown Ups was the last in the Olympic theme, and was the word Legacy.

No cat, no house. Aunt Renee’s will was clear.
And I needed the house.
I thought I could wait the cat out. He’d been old when I was young, couldn’t last much longer.
But as time went by, and I grew frailer, Fluffy seemed to get younger, fatter, more … well, menacing
My son … and heir … sits beside me, stroking my hands. He’s promising to take care of Fluffy.
I try to tell him – Fluffy will take care of you. Like he did with me.
But I can’t speak. And Fluffy is lying there…watching me.
Oooooh sinister! I enjoyed this. Hope somebody manages to cotton on to Fluffy before too long.

Fluffy’s got them all fooled I think. Thanks for dropping by.

You always do haunting so well, Sandra. Creepy and terrifying, as any good cat-horror story should be!

I love mingling cats and horror, though I quite like cats. Thanks for commenting.

Cats are much to aloof to be menacing. But if there was a menacing cat, his name would definitely be Fluffy! Great photo too.

I read a (presumably true) news story sometime in the past year about a cat at a hospice, who always seemed to turn up in the room of whoever was about to die, and sit patiently until everything was over – then on to the next doomed person. Now, that’s creepy! Fluffy sounds like he came from the same litter.

Yes I read that one too; imagine your feelings when he wanders into your room!
