I learned a lot from this challenge. There was no difficulty at all in identifying potential ‘portrait’ shots; the majority looked fairly interesting.
But when I came to choose a horizontal shot, it was amazing how critical the eye became, principally because it really wanted to see the shot vertically. So to capture the right horizontal photo, it became necessary to adopt a more abstract approach:
I still think it would look better vertically though. 🙂
PS: My husband had to help me with this week’s submission, not the least by letting me actually hold his ‘posh’ camera. Mwah!

Nice job giving us two entirely different views of that bust. I really like the parallelism of shooting a bust in “portrait” orientation, and then how the shadows in the landscape photo completely change the mood. Great shoot!
