Trash: not something I’m in the habit of photographing. 😦 But this trash is different. Normally the Ampolla beach at Moraira, Spain is flat, golden and completely devoid of rocks but several times this winter we encountered sights like this when we went for our morning stroll. Not rocks, just solid mounds of seaweed that formed almost mini-cliffs, coating everything that it encountered in the rush for shore. The seaweed lingered for days, and then miraculously we’d find that overnight the sea had taken its detritus away on the outgoing tide.

I wonder if this is just a normal yearly cycle in that area or an aberration. Interesting.

We used to live just up the coast from here, and we’d only seen something similar when there had been terrific floods. It had been VERY windy for a few days though.

🙂 It’s good that the owner of this trash takes it away with itself in due course.
