Weekly Photo Challenge: Dreamy

Heading south through France, the Canal Rhone a Sete branches off Le Petit Rhone and goes pretty much in a straight line to Frontignan and out onto L’Etang de Thau.  Having passed through the Camargue region, where wild horses graze on the banks, the scenery opens up to reveal enormous flamingo-dotted salt lakes on either side of the canal, rows of fishermens’ waterside cabanes and stone dividing walls in various states of dereliction.  There’s a silent, dream-like quality to this stretch of water, and it can take the best part of a day to navigate end to end, a task best scheduled for a bright, sunny day.
