Kelly, 1995 -2006
Cubby and Kelly were rescued in South Africa, travelled with us to Germany, then to England and then to Spain where they ended their days. Cubby was a good dog, always anxious to please. Kelly was a dog good at making you anxious, and getting you to try to please her. 🙂

Another foster dog, who hopefully found someone with limitless energy, low sleep requirements, high worktops, and lockable cupboards. 🙂

I am, Sandra, today has just been one of those days when he’s been on my mind more than usual. The vet office sent a condolence card and in it the techs wrote such loving words. So now I am a bit of a wreck which I know you understand.

Our minds are working on similar paths this week, Sandra, although I went with a horse, not our foster dogs.

Hi Sandra, I came here through Janet’s blog and so glad to have found another animal lover! Cubby and Kelly are gorgeous and I’m sure they are still missed; gone but not forgotten. It’s never easy though, but we do have our memories to fall back on – eventually.
You must wonder about the foster dogs, I would find it hard to foster, I’d want to keep them all!

Hi Barb, thanks for taking the trouble to visit. Animals find a special place in our hearts, and it’s not always easy to reconcile the joy of letting them into our lives with the pain of watching them leave. Fostering too can bring its own kind of heartache, but it’s always tempered with positivity when you see them going off to their new lives. You can’t help but wonder what becomes of them though. It would be nice, as you say, if you could keep them all. Thanks for dropping by.
