Weekly Photo Challenge: Warmth

Warmth;  So many ways to illustrate this from photographs taken on our travels.

The warmth of a late summer’s evening in Spain.  The day had been sultry and stormy – the night promised more of the same.  We sat on the naya, waiting for the storm to revisit, hoping that tomorrow might bring fresher, cooler weather.   To the west, over the Sierra Bernia, the sun was going down:

Down by the beach, we captured the warm Mediterranean light, burnishing the cliff face by the port of Moraira.

Villa2001_0321_173632AAIn Sidney, we were lucky to capture a shot of the warm coloured plumage of this lovely bird:

Whilst in the warmth of a November day in the southern hemisphere, we took advantage of a little shade at Boschendal, Western Cape:

About Sandra

I used to cruise the French waterways with my husband four or five months a year, and wrote fiction and poetry. Now I live on the beautiful Dorset coast, enjoying the luxury of being able to have a cat, cultivating an extensive garden and getting involved in the community. I still write fiction, but only when the spirit moves me - which isn't as often as before. I love animals, F1 motor racing, French bread and my husband, though not necessarily in that order.

Reminds me of a trip I took with my brother in law to Pamplona – not to run the bulls, but for a dog show. The sunset in the hills as we drove down from France was quite spectacular. Maybe it was the trip and “hunger is the best sauce”, but but we had one of my most memorable meals at a little restaurant near the hotel. Nothing fancy, just a steak perfectly done with a sprinkle of rock salt on top with potatoes and a Spanish beer. Thanks for reminding me.

We’ve always enjoyed eating out in Spain, Bill. You’d think with the French reputation for cuisine that our favourite memories would be of eating out whilst cruising, but we’ve consistently enjoyed every kind of meal in Spain, be it Chinese, Indian, Spanish, Mexican… I could go on. 🙂 Thanks for dropping by.

Beautiful captures, Sandra – the first one being my favourite! There is something about those dramatic and calm at the same time colours that made me to return and have a look again… 🙂
    Happy holidays!
