The Weekly Photo Challenge was ‘Inspiration’. The magnificent Dorset coastline certainly inspired me to undertake a serious shin-busting, calf-ripping trek for a better vantage point for the lovely Lulworth Cove and cliffs.
Chesil Beach – the location for Ian McEwan’s Booker Prize winning novella – still in Dorset. Another climb here, this time in a car, high above Portland.
Some foreign coastlines – Table Mountain from Bloubergstrand, and Los Gigantes, Tenerife.

Thanks Bill. Sometimes I forget how lucky we are living on a relatively small island where you’re never really that far from the coast. Our trip to Dorset earlier this month really reinforced that for me.

Lovely shots and well worth the effort! I have just read Chesil Beach for our book club so it was very interesting to see your photo. Thanks.

Hi Debbie. Coincidentally I just finished On Chesil Beach too, and will be reviewing it on my next Bookworm page, above. I had no idea it was such a spectacular stretch.

How coincidental! I’ll look forward to reading your review to see what you have to say. It looks a lovely stretch of coastline.

It’s hard to catch the detail in mid-motion pics like these, but I’ll get better at it. 🙂
