State of Mind – WPC

Reeling under the shock of returning to the English winter, after spending two months in sunny Spain, a quick glimpse through the photos taken over Christmas reminds me of the state of mind I was in at various points:

IMG_2893Christmas Eve, warm breezes across the balcony, the gentle crashing of waves on the beach below – contentment.

IMG_2966Watching the sun disappear, in the absolute certainty that there’d be sunshine the following day too – relaxation.

DSCF5043Our evening stroll around the port as the great ball of the sun slips over Calpe.  The assembled boats remind us that we’ll soon be back on ours again – anticipation.

DSC_0274Knowing that all good things come to an end and now it’s back to the daily grind  – prickly!

About Sandra

I used to cruise the French waterways with my husband four or five months a year, and wrote fiction and poetry. Now I live on the beautiful Dorset coast, enjoying the luxury of being able to have a cat, cultivating an extensive garden and getting involved in the community. I still write fiction, but only when the spirit moves me - which isn't as often as before. I love animals, F1 motor racing, French bread and my husband, though not necessarily in that order.
