It’s in the detail… WPC

IMG_3300DSCF6565Nasturtiums – literally means nose-twister – but the bloom itself signifies victory through battle and conquest.

DSCF5960It’s not often you get to admire the intricate feathered detail on the female duck – as usual it’s the showy male of the species that tends to get all the attention.

DSCF6213 The locomotive version of the old British Rail lion and wheel totem.  The lion rises from a heraldic crown of gold on which are arranged the rose (for England), the thistle (for Scotland), the leek (for Wales) and the oak leaf (for all Great Britain)”.  It’s all in the detail…

About Sandra

I used to cruise the French waterways with my husband four or five months a year, and wrote fiction and poetry. Now I live on the beautiful Dorset coast, enjoying the luxury of being able to have a cat, cultivating an extensive garden and getting involved in the community. I still write fiction, but only when the spirit moves me - which isn't as often as before. I love animals, F1 motor racing, French bread and my husband, though not necessarily in that order.

  7. The first and second photos are really interesting. I’d love to know the name of the first plant, and the yellow bloom looks like someone painted it. Nice interpretation. 🙂
