Those little extra things that make a good thing better…
Happy as a pig in muck, they say, but a puddle of your own and a bezzie mate to share it with… the cherry on the top.
It’s lovely to attract birds to the garden, but a greater spotted woodpecker is …
only bettered by a nonchalont pheasant, strolling around whilst I warm up the crockpot… only joking…
And when the bird table attracts the local squirrels, well that’s really the cherry on the top…
as is the same squirrel adorning our already flourishing flower tub.

Ohhh, I love your cherries on top. Yes, Yes, to life and all those little extras that make it wonderful.

Thanks Graham. I’d only ever seen a green woodpecker before. Our ‘little book of birds’ is getting well and truly dog-eared. Now I can also identify the nuthatch, dunnock and am sorting out the differences between the various finches. 🙂

Brings back memories of birdwatching as a kid. Nowadays I hear more than I see and would love to recognize bird calls. I suppose there must be an app for that:)

Hi Sandra I absolutely love squirrels but I am curious have you been holidaying in Dorset? Just curious because I live in Christchurch!

No, we’ve moved to Dorset, jwd. We’re in Harmans Cross, close to Swanage. A very rural location but about 3 miles from the sea. It’s beautiful. We stayed at Christchurch whilst doing our reccies around the south coast last year. Loved the clifftops there.

How lovely, we are practically neighbours now! 😀 We were at Kimmeridge bay yesterday, it’s beautiful, there is a lot to see in that area.

I’ve not been there yet. So many beautiful places to see. The road to Kimmeridge from Corfe is where the Margaret Green Animal Sanctuary is located. I volunteer there a couple of times a week and that’s where the photos of the two pigs, Bangers and Mash (!), was taken. 🙂
