It was a cold one, last night…

Pity the poor fish huddling beneath the reeds…

despite the fountain constantly running…

the pond is slowly freezing over.

About Sandra

I used to cruise the French waterways with my husband four or five months a year, and wrote fiction and poetry. Now I live on the beautiful Dorset coast, enjoying the luxury of being able to have a cat, cultivating an extensive garden and getting involved in the community. I still write fiction, but only when the spirit moves me - which isn't as often as before. I love animals, F1 motor racing, French bread and my husband, though not necessarily in that order.

    I love your photos. I live in Durban South Africa and never have snow, so these shots were fascinating.

      Yes, I missed snow when we lived in Jo’burg. But now I miss the Louries, the Ibis, the Protea, the afternoon thunderheads…. 😦 Thanks for visiting, Cheryl.

      I’ve never known it so cold, and we’re on the south coast of England, about 3 miles from the sea where its supposed to be warmer… Thanks for visiting, Miriam.

        You’re welcome, Sandy, I heard that schools on the south coast of England are closed. The weather is so strange here also. A huge cold and rain storm is moving from east across US and coming to southern California right now and drop snow on the mountain. We have to prepare for heavy rain. What is happening to the weather??

          Blizzard conditions here right now, and the boiler is giving up the ghost! The engineer is snowed in, but even if he weren’t he can’t reach us right now as the road is closed! This could be a long weekend.

            Oh no, how are you going to heat up your place? Hope you stay warm – heavy jackets and blankets…
            The snow storm is coming to California by tomorrow and through the weekend. Not too far north of us just got a mandatory evacuation warning and 30,000 people were told to grab their belongings to leave those towns.
