On the coldest day of the year, indeed for many years, the liquid in our pond began its transformation…
… the remaining vegetation froze solid, and it was hard to remember a time when
… a different kind of vegetation floated elegantly over the surface.

About Sandra
I used to cruise the French waterways with my husband four or five months a year, and wrote fiction and poetry. Now I live on the beautiful Dorset coast, enjoying the luxury of being able to have a cat, cultivating an extensive garden and getting involved in the community. I still write fiction, but only when the spirit moves me - which isn't as often as before. I love animals, F1 motor racing, French bread and my husband, though not necessarily in that order.
Beautiful, Sandra. Your entry could have the same title as mine this week: Contrasts.

It could indeed, Janet. I loved both of yours.

I almost went with some frozen shots like yours, which I like as much as droplet shots, but then remembered the two I used. So much liquid, so little time. 🙂

Thank you! Yes, I loved that one, especially the sprinkling drops. It’s not often I get that kind of detail into a shot.

I live in a tropical country so this is a magical sight for me. Thanks for sharing!

My favourite shots have been taken in winter, in particular frost over spider webs and bushes. Glad to share with you; perhaps you’d send some of your sun? 🙂
