It was the stocks actually Yousuf, where they secured prisoners by their head and wrists so that people could throw things at them, rotten fruit etc. I’m not sure whether the procedure was preceded by a trial. 😦

Thanks Irene. The dog was a spanish stray who was lived rough and was supported by the town, until eventually he was captured and taken to the UK by an English couple. Last I heard he’d settled beautifully. And yes, Dorset is everything I’d heard it would be. Delightful.
