Oops! Weekly Photo Challenge

explodetable2Probably my most memorable ‘Oops’ moment:  our glass dining table exploded whilst I was standing only a couple of yards away!  I won’t forget that for a long time, but apparently it’s not such a rare event.  I lost my favourite blue vase in that unforgettable incident.

explodetable3On the water, of course, you get to see the end product of a number of ‘oops’ moments.  Glad we weren’t involved in any of these:

  1. Sandra, this is a great gallery of “Oops” moments. The table incident must have been more than a little scary!

I think they’re made of safety glass, so though you might get bruised by the projectiles, you probably wouldn’t get cut. At least I think how it works – I was just outside of the firing range!

  9. Goodness! Just recently I’ve been thinking that glass dining tables are a good idea. Perhaps not. But I’m so glad you were not hurt – I can’t imagine it would be much fun being hit by glass, ‘safety’ or otherwise.

Hi Veronica, I was just thinking about you. Everything turned out fine in the end, the supplier heard the item on the Jeremy Vine programme on R2. They offered us a replacement dining table free of charge, and discounted a nest of matching tables too! Good job I don’t have a weak heart though, it was like a bomb going off. 😦

  10. A very scary moment to have glass explode without a clue to you. Was it from the heat edited by your lap top? I have a glass dining room table.
Great selections for the challenge, Sandra.

  11. That oops moment is a bit scary for me. I have a glass kitchen table. It’s very heavy glass, so I hope to heck it won’t explode. I’m glad you weren’t hurt. Those boats were a bit creepy also. O_o —- Suzanne
