Weekly Photo Challenge: Unexpected

DSCN2640One minute we were idling away the time in a traffic jam, and the next we were surrounded by braying, panicking animals….

About Sandra

I used to cruise the French waterways with my husband four or five months a year, and wrote fiction and poetry. Now I live on the beautiful Dorset coast, enjoying the luxury of being able to have a cat, cultivating an extensive garden and getting involved in the community. I still write fiction, but only when the spirit moves me - which isn't as often as before. I love animals, F1 motor racing, French bread and my husband, though not necessarily in that order.

  11. Joyce says:

That is similar to the situation we were in once when we got stuck in the middle of a road during a cattle round up on a narrow mountain road west of Fort Collins when we were coming down from our mountain property. Mooing cattle all around us poking their way slowly through the line of traffic while trying to keep up with the wranglers.

    • Sandra says:

It’s funny how much more unnerving it is when there is a herd/flock of such creatures heading for you. One animal on its own doesn’t have much impact but when there are twenty or thirty of them you realise the force that they can exert.

      • Joyce says:

There have been cases here when someone is coming down from our area in the mountains when a cougar or deer has literally hit a car crossing the road, and endangered the driver, causing sever damage to a car.
